It is a Elmer Gantry year! Not unlike the hustler preacher played well by Burt Lancaster, Obama has acted and spoken as though his run for the Presidency has been "divinely" inspired. Obama has often mentioned that he has felt a "righteous wind at my back"! And unfortunately many followers and the MSM have acted as though he is Divine!

But he is like the reverend Gantry, in that he twists the truth all too much. one of his most infamous lies is about his relationship with William Ayers and Bernadine Dorn, of the notorius Weathermen bombers.
Obama claims he was only eight years old when the weathermen bombed the U.S. Capitol, but he served on the Annenberg funded Chicago group with Bill Ayers for for years as an adult lawyer. If that is not enough to make the connection. How about the 1993 party that Obama attended in California as reported but not published by the LA Times.

This quote brands Obama's claim that Ayers and Dorn are nothing to him but neighbors as a bald faced LIE! Since when do neighbors fly across the country to attend a party for an alleged terrorist?

Is the type of association indicative of what we can expect in an Obama cabinet? A leftist who describes himself as a unrepentant bomber, who is a communist with a small "c"?

One other thing to consider is the position that Obama has taken about foreign wars.
He has stood against the Iraq war since he was in the Illinois Senate, and has said he would immediately withdraw our troops by executive order once he assumes the Presidency. But then he also said we should pursue Osama in Afghanistan. I take this to mean that he will expand the war in Afghanistan. A country that has rough mountainous terrain, and was the place where the Taliban defeated the once mighty Russian Army!

If he was not lying about pursuit of Osama, he will need to follow the advice of Congressman Charles B. Rangel. Rangel has been lobbying for years to re-institute the DRAFT. Will the anti-war supporters of Obama find that he has lied to them also,and will we have a draft to balance as Rangel says the disparity of Caucasians troops in uniform to minorities?
Something for all voters to think about other than the economy!

A look at the current financial data, will illustrate more differences than similarities between the 1930s and today: In the crash of 1929 the Dow Jones industrials plunged 40% in two months!

This financial dilemma has taken a year to fall 22%. The jobless rate jumped to 25% by 1933; it is little more than 6% today. The gross domestic product shrank by 25% during the early 1930s; it is up over 3% during the past year. Consumer prices fell by about 30% from 1929 to 1933; and the last time I looked they were still rising!

Home prices dropped more than 30% during the Depression vs. about 16% today. Some 40%of all mortgages were delinquent by 1934 compared with 4% today. In the 1930s, more than 9,000 banks failed compared with fewer than 20 over the past couple of years.

Remember also it was policy errors, not the stock market crash, that caused the Great Depression: Instead of increasing the money supply, the Federal Reserve of that era reduced it by one-third. Instead of lowering taxes, Herbert Hoover raised them. And to channel whatever demand was left into U.S.-made goods, the government enacted the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act to keep out foreign products; this only provoked our trading partners to do the same. It is a fact that there is the ongoing decline in home prices. Nothing that the government did over the weekend will keep home prices from falling further. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out why home prices are dropping: it’s nothing more mysterious than too many houses for sale at prices well above what buyers can (or are willing to) pay!

Once home prices stabilize buyers will be willing to step off the sidelines and start shopping for homes. The banks will also want to see steady prices before they will even think of making a home loan; they don’t want borrowers to become “upside-down” as soon as they take out the loan!

And questions have been raised about Obama’s student loans, and Obama’s ties to a radical Muslim activist who reportedly was raising money for Obama’s Harvard studies during the years 1988 to 1991.

The allegations first surfaced in late March, when former Manhattan Borough president Percy Sutton told a New York cable channel that a former business partner who was “raising money” for Obama had approached him in 1988 to help Obama get into Harvard Law School.

They also ignore the recently added charge that both Obama's admittance and tuition to Harvard Law School were aided by known Muslims.
In an interview by News Max Kenneth Timmerman of former Manhattan Borough president Percy Sutton, Mr. Sutton says he first heard of Obama about twenty years ago from Khalid Al-Mansour, a Black Muslim and Black Nationalist who was a “mentor” to the founders of the Black Panther party at the time the party was founded in the early 1960s.

Sutton described al-Mansour as advisor to “one of the world’s richest men,” Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal. As Sutton remembered, Al-Mansour was raising money for Obama’s education and seeking recommendations for him to attend Harvard Law School.

“I was introduced to (Obama) by a friend who was raising money for him,” Sutton told NY1 city hall reporter Dominic Carter. “The friend’s name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas.” Why would a Muslim raise money for a professed Christian?

The second fact is that despite the agitators claims that racism is still hurting the Black man. The truth is that American people have for more than forty years witnessed the passing of legislation to help the Blacks via affirmative action, racial quotas and government mandated loans to many people who bought homes that did not have the funds to pay for them. Many were Black people.

Affirmative action in the United States( there is no such program in any other Country) was intended to promote access to education, employment, or housing among certain designated groups (typically, minorities and women). And not the least important, Senator Obama has not shown any leadership qualities that make him Presidential material.So it would appear the only reason they want him to be elected is because he appears Black!
If he loses, these people are already trying to intimidate the American voter with their pointed fingers indicating when he loses it will either be a "crooked" election, or because the majority is racist!

Barney Frank (D-MA), as Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd (D-CT), Chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs Committee had ample knowledge of President Bush’s and Senator McCain’s concerns about the need for oversight reform for the financial markets, yet they chose to play the roles of obstructers instead of reformers. They would put down roots, work in the community, send their children to

Clinton.

In the spring and summer of 1994, Secretary Henry Cisneros met with leaders of major national organizations from the housing industry to solicit their views about establishing a national home ownership partnership. In August 1994 these
planning sessions culminated in a historic meeting at which industry
representatives agreed to the formation of working groups to help develop the
National Home ownership Strategy,��

This financial scheme was most likely meant to bolstering Clinton's legacy as a man who “cared about the little people. It promoted irresponsibly low down payments and forced lenders(Banks and Mortgage Co.) into giving home loans to first-time buyers with unstable financing and very low incomes.Most of whom had not the means to pay the loan payments.

Their Strategy acknowledged that, “In many instances,prospective first-time home buyers find that developing the proper savings patterns to accumulate sufficient cash for the down payment is difficult.��

The Strategy also admitted that, “…although the variety in loan products available to the borrower is commendable, it can prove confusing to a first-time home buyer,��

Chapter 4: Financing). A great many of the present ills could have been avoided
had some of those warnings been heeded before politicians were lured by the
siren song of home ownership and the votes it brings.
They identified three types of Borrowers.

1. Borrowers who attempted to abide by the original purpose of the Strategy
should, indeed, be helped wherever possible.
2. Borrowers, usually already homeowners, who sought to increase leverage
with the creative financing tools developed to meet the Strategy goals,
whether to augment income from cash-out refinancing or to trade up to
larger houses before they can afford them in any stable fashion, need to
learn that those tools are not for them.
3. Borrowers who were mere speculators and perpetrators of fraud need to
face market discipline.

So today we have a mortgage market in which the products and approaches encouraged by the National Home ownership Strategy have been misused to increase leverage throughout the market and encourage speculation by
builders, buyers, and financial institutions, alike.

The Strategy certainly helped some renters achieve the dream of home ownership. But the Strategy was also fundamentally misused to extend more credit to prime borrowers, fueling home price inflation.

That home price inflation led builders to build ever more developments, using creative financing to sell the homes. In the process, speculators also used the creative financing to leverage their bets on home price appreciation in the bubble environment.

This has resulted in record foreclosures in the present marketplace.
And guess who was responsible for pushing the legislation through Congress? Senator Christopher Dodd and the Clinton controlled Congress!

Now he and Congressman Barney Frank of "roommate gate" fame, are trying to push this 700 billion dollar bail-out to cover their muddled leftist thinking in pushing the original legislation that put US in this financial mess!
And that is not all the Democrats want to do! House Democrats said they were still considering a separate plan to increase taxes to pay for a portion of the bailout, possibly by taxing stock transfers or levying a "surtax" on millionaires. What their definition of millionaires is, remains to be learned, but it is the same old tax and spend Democrats!

Todays news from Venezuela details the cutting off of oil sales to the Exxon Oil Company.Both Chavez and Oil Minister Rafael Ramirez previously said the Irving, Texas-based company is no longer welcome to do business in Venezuela.

On Tuesday, the Democrat-ruled House passed the American Energy Security and Consumer Protection Act by a vote of 263-189. Characterized by the LameSM as repealing the ban on offshore drilling, the bill would open coastal waters only beyond 100 miles from shore, unless the adjacent state allows drilling 50 miles offshore. Oddly enough, most known deposits of oil are found within the 50-mile limit.
This action preceded today's news that Light, sweet crude for October delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose $2.33 to $106.88 a barrel by mid afternoon in Europe after falling as low as $103.35 earlier in the day. CNS News reports, “In addition, the bill retains a ban in parts of the Eastern Gulf of Mexico until 2022, bans any drilling within 125 miles of the Florida coastline, and permanently blocks drilling in all national marine monuments and national marine sanctuaries.” In other words, Democrats want to look as if they are doing something while still doing nothing!

Although President Bush has said he would veto this dastardly bill, it just shows that the Democrats are controlled by the Ecology Marxists who would like to see Us all riding bicycles instead of cars, and want to see our military ground down to an effete "force". No oil, no jet fuel or diesel for tanks and trucks.

This is no time to turn over the Oval Office to a man who has said he could talk with no reservations or restrictions to the madman in Iran!
